If the only time you want to be sober is going through customs, then perhaps this is not for you.

If you have a family, then you know any outing, even to the grocery store, is stressful. I saw tired parents on the flight back who spent the week at Disney World. “It was a long week” I kept hearing.

I heard none of that from Disney Cruise Line guests.

Listen to this non-believer. I was not excited about this trip. I didn’t know too much about cruising, but my sisters and wife wanted to go, and I needed a vacation.

There was one subtle, but almost magical observation I made during the trip: The moment you are through Disney’s doors, the stress is gone.

Before that, we got bad directions from our hotel. We were going to be late returning the rental car. We started getting irritated with each other. Once Disney took our bags from our car, that all disappeared.

There’s literally something for everyone on the Disney Fantasy, but it seems like the Disney Cruise Line was built for kids like Jayden. He loved the room, the deck, the food, the Oceaneer’s club (where parents can drop off kids while the parents can do their own thing).

In all honesty, I didn’t really like the ports. I thought the Grand Caymans, Cozumel and Costa Mayo were too touristy.

Snorkeling was fun, but I preferred to stay on the Disney Fantasy.

I may not have liked the other ports, but the exception was Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Crystal clear water, comfortable, safe environment. We were literally the last ones to leave the beach.

The first day of our cruise, we were already looking at booking our next one. I’m pretty sure we’re not alone.

I also plan on a separate post for photographers and videographers like me. You don’t want to feel like working while on vacation, so I’ll give some tips on how to achieve that.
